“The Great Jubilation!” Living History

“The Great Jubilation!”, a commemoration of the end of the Civil War and the end of slavery in Missouri, was the theme of the 12th Annual Mary Meachum Freedom Crossing Celebration at the Mary Meachum crossing site on the St. Louis riverfront north of downtown on May 9, 2015.

The event was sponsored by Great Rivers Greenway, the National Park Service, Lincoln University, the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, and a number of other organizations.
