The Patterson Community Center and the Wayne County Historical Society will sponsor Civil War Days, a living history event, marking the 156th anniversary of Confederate General Marmaduke’s 1863 military expedition into Missouri and actions at Patterson and Fort Benton, to be held September 6-8, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday morning. The event will be held on the grounds of Fort Benton and the Patterson Community Center in Patterson, Missouri.

Camps will open for the school day sessions exclusively on Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and then open to the general public at 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, camps will open at 9 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. On Sunday camps open in the morning for a church service at 9:00 a.m. The event will close around noon Sunday.

The Community Center will sponsor music programs Friday (country) and Saturday (bluegrass) from 5:30-6:30 p.m. On Saturday, the local historical society will conduct tours of nearby Fort Benton. A Sons of Union Veterans memorial ceremony will be held Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. at the cemetery opposite the Community Center.
