Turners were part of an honor guard at the interment of two Civil War veterans at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on June 14, 2014. Civil War veterans Augustus G. Whitcomb, Company E, 6th Massachusetts Infantry, and Francis M. Tuttle, Company B, 44th Illinois Infantry, were interred with honors in a ceremony assisted by the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War and the Sons of Veterans Reserve.
