St. Louis, MO: Decoration Day at Bellefontaine Cemetery
Bellefontaine Cemetery hosted a 2015 sesquicentennial event on Saturday, May 30, the original Decoration Day, to commemorate the end of the Civil War in St. Louis. Volunteer presenters, mostly in first-person, spoke at the gravesites of Civil War figures notable in St. Louis history. These figures were both military and civilian, male and female, Northern and Southern.

The large obelisk marks the Filley family plot, where Giles F. Filley is buried at Bellefontaine Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. The tomb in the foreground is the grave of Almira Hancock, wife of Union Gen. Winfield Scott Hancock.
