Bloomfield, MO: Stars and Stripes Kids Day Living History
The Stars and Stripes Military Newspaper Museum will host a living history for young people at the museum site in Bloomfield, MO, January 27, 2024.
Volunteers will be sharing the history of “Civil War Action around Bloomfield”, stories of both the Civil War soldiers’ and civilians’ lives during the war in southeast Missouri in and around Bloomfield.
The Museum celebrates the Stars and Stripes military newspaper’s first edition, published November 9, 1861, by Union troops after they took possession of the Bloomfield Herald Newspaper office.
