Bloomfield, MO: Stars and Stripes Museum Liberty Days Living History

The Stars and Stripes Military Newspaper Museum will host its 6th annual Liberty Days living history timeline at the museum site in Bloomfield, MO, Friday and Saturday, October 5-6, 2018.

The Museum celebrates the Stars and Stripes military newspaper’s first edition, published November 9, 1861, by Union troops after they took possession of the Bloomfield Herald Newspaper office.

Other event sponsors include Crowley’s Ridge Black Powder club, the Bloomfield Lion’s Club, and the Wake Foundation.

Visitors will experience the past as reenactors show how uniforms, weapons, a soldier’s daily life, and military tactics have evolved from the 1770s to the 1970s. The event includes living history military encampment areas and civilian areas with reenactors sharing the history and activities of their time period from the Revolutionary War period in the 1770s to the present.
