Wentzville, MO: Battle of Wentzville Reenactment.
The City of Wentzville Parks and Recreation and the Wentzville Area Historical Society and Co. C, 5th Regiment, Missouri Volunteer Cavalry (SVR, SUVCW), Inc., sponsored the Battle of Wentzville reenactment September 12-13, 2015, in town in Wentzville, Missouri.
This event commemorated the skirmishes that took place July 16-17, 1861, when secessionist forces attacked a Union troop train carrying companies of the 2nd and 8th Missouri Infantry outside of Wentzville on their journey to Mexico, Missouri, to link up with Federal forces under Franz Sigel.
