Artillery Carriage, Limber, and Trailer For Sale

Members of Company M have for sale a gun carriage (without a gun tube), a matching limber, and a trailer matched to them for an asking price of $4,600 for the whole package.

The carriage and limber have 48″ wheels. The carriage originally mounted a 3/4 scale 12-pdr. Napoleon tube (not included). It is also suitable for a Cadet 6-pdr. tube or any tube with 2.5″ trunnions or smaller.

The carriage and limber were originally built by Hal Hamilton of Ash Ordnance in St. Louis in the 1980s and were used by Battery I, 1st Missouri Light Artillery, until purchased by members of Company M in 2002.

The trailer is all steel, with tandem wheels, electric brakes, and both manual and electric winches. It has a pintle for securing the lunette of the gun carriage and folding steel U-channel ramps. The hitch fits a 2-inch ball.

The package does not include any implements, leather accoutrements, or other accessories, unless noted.

The limber. The limber wheels were Amish-rebuilt in 2005 and the limber pole is Steen-built from 2019.

 

The trailer with both a manual and an electric winch. The electric winch has a marine battery in the box next to the winch.  The long steel box on the side can carry tent poles and other items.
